Our verdict
Backblaze Business Backup is worth evaluating for files on employee Windows and Mac computers. Scope the purchase around computers and recovery requirements, rather than assuming it backs up every business workload.

What are you protecting?
The vendor lists automatic computer backup with one-year version history. Enterprise Control is a separate quoted option with additional administration capabilities. Do not apply the base computer-backup price to every feature in the vendor’s wider catalog.
Create a short inventory before choosing a plan: employee computers, shared storage, servers and cloud applications. Assign a backup method to each. A computer backup product should not be treated as evidence that your NAS or cloud application is covered.
Make the restore test part of the trial
Select a representative computer and back up non-sensitive test files. Change and delete a test file, then recover the required version to a separate location. Record the time, who can authorize recovery and whether staff can locate the restored data.
Repeat the exercise for a lost-computer scenario. The person who owns the device may not be available during an incident, so establish who can recover business information and what permissions they need. Confirm whether your selected plan provides the required administrative workflow.
Budget for devices and administration
The examples above assume one computer per employee. Count actual devices before purchasing; a business with twenty-five staff may have a different number of computers to protect. Include deployment time and periodic restore tests in your budget.
Ask the vendor to confirm retention, account closure, restore options and any additional charges relevant to your recovery process. Save the quote and review date alongside your asset inventory.
Compare the whole backup requirement
Read our business backup guide for the wider decision and Synology review when evaluating local shared storage. Local storage and offsite recovery serve different roles; purchasing one does not automatically provide the other.
